Volunteer of Quarter: Dr. AnnMarie Olson

Congratulations, Dr. Olson!

The first woman to serve as the president of the Capital Area Dental Society and a former CADS Young Dentist of the Year, Dr. AnnMarie Olson, has made her mark on organized dentistry in many ways.  She has also given her time and talents as a CADF dental volunteer and supporter.

Dr. Olson served on the CADS Board when CADF was being formed nearly ten years ago.  “I am so proud to see how far CADF has come,” she says. “It’s wonderful to see CADF being recognized outside of dental circles in the larger community for its good work.  We are a great example of how volunteers can really get things done.”

Dr. Olson’s practice, which includes CADF Board Member, Dr. Kacie Culotta, is an active participant in the Health Alliance for Austin Musicians (HAAM) Dental Program.  She estimates that her practice sees at least one HAAM patient each day and she wouldn’t have it any other way. “We love participating in HAAM.  I was in high school and college band, and I’m now a choral singer, so I feel a kinship with our HAAM patients.”

In addition to being an active volunteer dental provider, Dr. Olson is a founding member of the Sustainer’s Circle, CADF’s Annual Giving program.  “I’ve seen all the good things CADF has done to help people and joining the Sustainer’s Circle is a great way to give back,” says Dr. Olson.

“CADF is a great vehicle for sharing our blessings.  It’s truly an honor to be a volunteer and a donor.” AnnMarie Olson, DDS
