Be a Hero—Volunteer Today for the Healthy Smiles for Texans (DDS) Program

Healthy Smiles for Texans (DDS) is a national program created by dentists to bring comprehensive dental care to low-income and elderly adults who cannot afford treatment and do not qualify for public programs.  Many of these individuals have serious oral health programs and live in constant pain or discomfort.   Robert, featured in this video, was treated under the DDS program operated by CADF and is forever grateful for the life-changing care he received.

Volunteer dentists treat patients in their own office, with their own staff and equipment.  Tiffany Teague, CADF’s DDS Program Coordinator screens all patients for eligibility and handles all the paperwork.

As a volunteer provide, you have the flexibility to schedule patients at your own convenience. If for some reason, you are matched with a patient that you do not wish to treat, you are free to decline the case.  As the dental professional, you will determine the patient’s treatment plan and you will not responsible for lab costs.

You can volunteer for one case a month—or one case per year.  Only dentists can provide this life-changing care and the demand for care is growing.
